About the teacher
Andréia Simon Mora, founder of the Coisa de Brasileiro school, is a teacher specializing in Teaching and Learning Foreign Languages, as well as Grammar and Use of Brazilian Portuguese. She holds a degree in Literature/English from UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina). She lived as an expatriate in Canada and Japan, where she also worked in language teaching and intercultural training for expatriates, foreign professionals and their families. Passionate about photography and traveling, she is also a student of Italian and a volunteer teacher of PLAc (Portuguese as a Welcoming Language) at the Estou Refugiado Institute. She is a member of the board of directors of SIETAR Brasil (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research), whose goal is to effectively improve communication in the field of intercultural relations.
About the methodology
Intercultural approach, where teaching/learning the language involves not just one, but two cultures: the native culture and the target culture, thus observing the differences and similarities between them. This type of approach aims to enable the student to develop intercultural communicative competence, which goes beyond linguistic knowledge, combining language teaching with intercultural aspects in an optimized way. The chosen topics promote dynamic and meaningful conversation, and the use of authentic materials provides an even more enriching learning experience.
